The pickup counter

A crowded counter is a communication problem

When orders are ready at different times, the counter fills with people asking the same question. Staff call out numbers over the noise, guests hover so they don't miss their turn, and physical pagers need to be handed out, collected, cleaned and charged.

  • Fewer repeated questionsCustomers can see their order's status on their own phone.
  • No shouting numbersThe customer's page shows clearly when the order is ready.
  • Nothing to hand outNo devices to collect, clean or charge. The customer uses their own phone.

How it works

Four steps from order to pickup

  1. 01CreateStaff enter the order number, or a configured integration creates the ticket.
  2. 02ScanThe customer scans the order's unique QR and opens the pickup page.
  3. 03CallThe customer enables and tests sound. Staff mark the order ready and call the customer.
  4. 04CollectStaff or the customer confirm collection, followed by an optional star rating.

Inside Zad. Pager

What staff and customers see

Staff keypad and queue

Staff add an order from a simple keypad and follow every ticket in one queue.

  • Enter the order number on the keypad, or let a configured integration create the ticket
  • Each order shows its state: preparing, ready, collected or cancelled
  • Call again, mark as collected or cancel from the queue
  • A recent-activity indicator shows whether the customer's page was open recently. It doesn't prove the customer heard an alert.
  • Restaurant QR access, plus today's orders, average preparation time and average pickup time on the dashboard

Works on its own. Integrations need configuration.

Zad. Pager can run on its own: staff create tickets from the keypad. APIs for receiving orders from other systems are implemented, but a live integration with Zad. Plus hasn't been verified yet. Other integrations need a compatible system and configuration.

Questions

Questions about Zad. Pager

Do customers need to install an app?

No. The customer scans the order's QR and the pickup page opens in the browser. During the current pilot, customer pickup links require authorised access.

Will the customer always hear the alert?

Only while the pickup page is open and sound is enabled. Customers tap the page to enable sound. We can't promise sound when the phone is locked, the page is closed or the customer has switched to another app.

Does it need Zad. Plus?

No. Zad. Pager can run on its own, with staff creating tickets from the keypad. A live integration with Zad. Plus hasn't been verified yet, and other integrations need a compatible system and configuration.

Is Zad. Pager available now?

It's a pilot that's available for demonstration. Public customer access isn't enabled yet. Request a demo and we'll walk you through it.
